Jochebed Foundation was born out of that experience—to honor women like my mother and support single mothers who carry the weight of the world alone. We provide them with the tools, skills, and support they need to thrive, not just survive.

Nandijja Desire was born and raised in Uganda, where life took a challenging turn at an early age. She lost her father while still a baby and was brought up by her mother, a determined woman who faced the struggles of single motherhood with strength and grace. Growing up in a modest household, Nandijja witnessed firsthand the sacrifices her mother made to ensure she had access to education, food, and a future filled with hope.
Despite the hardships, Desire remained focused and resilient. Her childhood experiences instilled in her a deep sense of empathy, purpose, and a drive to succeed. From an early age, she discovered her passion for dance, using it not just as an art form but also as an outlet for expression and healing.
As she grew older, she turned her challenges into motivation. Nandijja rose to become a respected influencer, public figure, and dancer—using her platform to inspire others, especially young women and children growing up in similar circumstances. Her authenticity and powerful story resonate with many across Uganda and beyond.
Determined to give back to the community that shaped her, Nandijja co-founded the Jochebed Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on empowering vulnerable children, women, and single mothers. Through her work with the foundation, she is committed to creating opportunities, offering support, and being a voice of hope for those in need.
