This foundation is not just about charity

it’s about restoring dignity, giving a voice to the voiceless, and showing others that hope is still alive, even in the hardest places.

Helping single mothers and their children

In every child we support, and in every woman we empower.

Raising Awareness:

The Silent Strength of Single Mothers

At Jochebed Foundation, we deeply honor and recognize the strength, resilience, and sacrifice of single mothers — especially in underserved communities where the weight of parenting often rests on their shoulders alone.

Being a single mother is not a choice for many — it’s a journey of survival, endurance, and unconditional love. These women work tirelessly, often without recognition or support, to ensure their children eat, learn, and dream. In many parts of Uganda and across Africa, single mothers face:

  • Stigma and social exclusion
  • Limited access to education and economic opportunities
  • No support in healthcare, housing, or childcare
  • Overwhelming emotional and financial pressure

Being raised by a single mother can be challenging, but it can also be advantageous. Single mothers often face unique difficulties, such as:

  • Financial strain
  • Emotional stress
  • Balancing work and parenting responsibilities
  • Providing stability and security

However, many single mothers provide loving, supportive, and nurturing environments for their children, and children raised by single mothers can develop valuable skills, such as:

  • Resilience
  • Independence
  • Resourcefulness
  • Empathy

Ultimately, the challenges and benefits of being raised by a single mother depend on individual circumstances and experiences
